In the world of Tethe’alla, there is a small, hidden village called Mizuho, located near the Tower of Salvation, and surrounded by the Gaoracchia Forest. With the chief, Igaguri, in coma, the vice chief, Tiga, heads all executive decisions, and governs the people. Mizuho is a place of tradition, and respect is the basis of everything; largely based off of the ancient Japanese culture. This is the home of Sheena Fujibayashi, where she learned how to wield her seal cards, and honed her skills with her ninja-induced flexibility.
It was revealed that Igaguri, the village chief, had found Sheena in the Gaoracchia forest when she was an infant, and raised her as his own granddaughter. When she was a child, it was discovered that Sheena had the ability to make pacts with summon spirits, and was able to call them forth in order to use their powers. Because the origin of her parents is unknown, and she is capable of summoning, Sheena speculates that she has elven ancestors. Only elves are able to use any kind of magic in this world, let alone harness the powers of the summon spirits. In order to increase her arsenal, Sheena was sent to the Temple of Lightening with a group of other ninja in order to form a pact with the summon spirit, Volt, at the age of seven. Everything had gone according to plan, until they realized that Volt couldn’t speak through human language.
With miscommunications gone awry, the group couldn’t comprehend Volt’s reluctance to form a pact, because of the abandonment that was dealt by his previous summoner. The summon spirit quickly became outraged and went berserk, killing one-fourth of Mizuho’s population, and putting chief Igaguri into a coma. After this event, many of the villagers holstered a grudge towards Sheena. This also caused Sheena to become extremely frightened by thunder and lightening, and had done permanent damage to her self-confidence, specifically in decision making.
When she’s older (during the current time of the game) Sheena is chosen to be the representative of Mizuho, and thus is sent to work for the Pope and King of Tethe’alla. Their orders are simple; kill the hideous chosen of the other world, Sylverant, in order to save Tethe’alla indefinitely. Things aren’t so simple when Sheena’s attempts fail multiple times, as she tries to stop Colette Brunel from visiting the altars of each of the five “Seals” in the opposing world. It isn’t until the group and Sheena have the common goal of saving captured townspeople from what were thought to be Desians, that they began to see eye to eye, and Sheena joined Lloyd’s force. The ex-assassin began to grow close to the group, and the thoughts of killing innocent Colette finally dissipated as she was able to bond with her new friends.
More often than not, Sheena is a tomboy, through and through, with an underlying sweetness that shows from time to time. Her will is strong, and she is constantly guided by a feeling of what’s right. She sometimes relies on a “tough façade” to remove herself from awkward or uneasy situations. She could be considered talkative, once she opens up to someone. It is easy to tell when Sheena is angry, as she won’t do much to hide the fact, and won’t hesitate to tell someone about it. She also has a bit of a big sister complex towards children, and will risk her life for one that she doesn’t even know.
When Sheena first joins up with the party, Raine is skeptical, and frankly upset that Lloyd and Colette so readily put their faith in the summoner. Eventually, though, the two are able to get along, specifically after Raine helps Sheena acquire Volt by translating for the summon spirit. Sheena shares the belief with Lloyd that rules can be broken in order to do what's right, as was shown when she risked her life to save the town of Luin from the Desian invasion. Because of Sheena's "attractive figure", Zelos often calls her "my voluptuous hunny", and typically follows that up with a grope. That usually ends with Sheena bluntly slapping the red-haired Chosen. Needless to say, Sheena's opinion of Zelos is a tad sour at times, but trusts where his loyalties lay.

Was this a new port town, or something?
She could have sworn that she was still somewhere near Mizuho just a second ago, and definitely had no recollection of getting onto a boat. And yet, here was Sheena, fresh off a boat on this unknown port, unfamiliar people bustling about all around. People…People…
…Corinne? Maybe Lloyd’s here? …Or Colette? Hell, even that stupid Chosen would suffice right about now.
It was mid afternoon, and the sun was set high in the sky, illuminating every square inch of the foreign town port.
Hazel eyes searched wearily throughout the crowds, lingering on faces no longer than a few seconds. After several feudal attempts, her attention was then drawn to the characteristics of each person. The clothing worn in this town was much different from anything she’d seen in Tethe’alla or Sylverant. The architecture of the buildings were much different, too. The walkways, the boats, the… Her thoughts were interrupted by a burst of noise that emanated from her stomach; the sound of her hunger was almost unbearable. With this new reminder, the young woman then set up a mental list of priorities, placing food at the very top. Second would be locating someone…anyone.
